Even with a wide range of learning tools, the challenges for newcomers often reach far beyond the classroom and the capacity of the instructor to respond.
Jurisdictions provide settlement and integration services for new immigrants, many of which can be helpful in responding to some of the issues of employment, health care, childcare, and settlement and integration. The following slides contain links to these services in Canadian jurisdictions. Instructors may it find it helpful to refer students to community organizations provided through these links.
