Introduction

The ministers responsible for education in the provinces and territories across Canada have made a strong commitment to work together on literacy. One of the results of this commitment was the Pan-Canadian Interactive Literacy Forum that took place in April 2008, organized by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada. More than 3,000 people in nine sites across the country engaged in a pan-Canadian dialogue about literacy. The information and presentations highlighted in this module are drawn from that event.
